Having informed the Valve Corporation of the intended content of our upcoming title Total Rendition, we in turn have been notified that Total Rendition will be blocked from distribution in Germany. As a result, Total Rendition’s Early Access and Open Playtest may also no longer be accessible in Germany.

While unfortunate, the news has come as little surprise given Germany’s stringent media censorship, however intended to protect its rule of law and democratic institutions.

Upon Total Rendition nearing completion, we may still seek to obtain permission to release the full version of Total Rendition in Germany. Under certain circumstances, games with controversial content may still be approved for distribution in Germany, provided the relevant institutions are satisfied this is done not to glorify offending content.
